Bernhard Stehle

Bernhard Stehle graduated from the University of Fribourg with a PhD on wrongful death (Peter-Jäggi-award; award of the Swiss Society for Tort and Insurance Law) and was admitted to the bar in St. Gallen. He is admitted to all Swiss Courts.

He worked in a legaltech company and in the banking and insurance team of a large Zurich law firm. He conducted postdoc research on the interpretation of contracts at the University of St. Gallen and at the Max Planck Institute in Hamburg. He is a lecturer for private and commercial law at the University of St. Gallen and OST – the Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences.

He researches, publishes and lectures on contract and commercial law, corporate law, tort and insurance law, private international law and civil procedure. He is president of the Swiss Society for Tort and Insurance Law and an editor of HAVE/REAS (the Journal of Tort and Insurance Law).
